Lippenpflege richtig gemacht!

Lip care done right!

Everyone wants to have a beautifully groomed kissable mouth. The winter season presents us with particular challenges. If you look in the mirror during the cold season, you often see them: the dry, often cracked areas on our lips.

The sensitive and thin skin on our lips suffers particularly in winter. We breathe, drink, eat and speak, and our lips are constantly coming into contact with moisture. But it is precisely this moisture that evaporates and dries out these areas. This is exacerbated by the constant change between warm heating air and cold outside air.

We then like to intensify this unpleasant, often tense feeling by running our tongue over our lips to moisten them. In the short term, the lips feel supple again, but actually the dryness is increased even more – a small vicious circle that we take a closer look at here: Lip care done right!

People like to kiss beautiful and soft lips

Everyone wants a beautiful kissable mouth, especially during the high season for kissing, whether it’s carnival time or wedding season. But not only for the perfect kissing moment, chapped and cracked lips are also annoying in everyday life, feel uncomfortable and look unattractive.

In precisely this state, the lips have been deprived of their natural protection. As the skin on the lips is much thinner than the rest of the facial skin and does not have its own protective lipid film, we need to provide it with sufficient moisture and support. In addition, dry, cracked lips are an ideal entry point for pathogens, which makes it all the more important to protect them properly and adequately. The right products for regular care are crucial here, as many products also promote dryness. What really helps and whether home remedies can also help?

The right lip care? The selection is large

As with other skin problems, the variety of products is very diverse and often confusing for the layperson. But what does our skin really need? It is now clear that parabens, mineral oils and preservatives should always be avoided. After all, skin and lips should be protected, cared for and not put under additional strain. Perfumed products are also not necessarily recommended, as many people nowadays react to them with allergies.

Honey is often mentioned as a tried and tested natural tip. It is said to have a healing effect when applied thinly to the lips. There is a small problem with this: it also tastes good and often tempts you to lick or moisten your lips. Olive oil, on the other hand, has a naturally greasy effect and can help to make lips soft and supple without tempting you to lick them.

Moisturizing, natural ingredients are very important and recommended, for example:

  • Microalgae active ingredients. These not only improve the skin’s elasticity, but also promote moisturization and have a regenerating and invigorating effect.
  • Shea butter is also rich in vitamins and glycerine. This protects against dehydration, temperature and sun exposure and leaves the skin feeling pleasantly smooth.
  • Vitamin E, increases the skin’s defenses and delays premature skin aging.

Whether in summer or winter, the lips should always be protected with UV protection, as UV radiation can be a trigger for herpes in addition to its drying effect – a rather unpleasant side effect.

A little tip from the beauty expert

If you have dry lips, you don’t have to give up color altogether. It is now known that lipsticks with synthetic oils as ingredients dry out the lips. Therefore, lipsticks such as skinicer ocean kiss with nourishing, moisturizing and protective components should be used. This way, the color will still look beautiful on the lips even after a few hours and won’t form unsightly, pronounced lip lines. With this in mind, here’s to a beautiful, well-groomed lip season!
